About the opportunity
As a member of the contracts team in Integrated Operations, you’ll bring your commercial acumen and contractual expertise to the forefront, managing large, complex agreements across planning, implementation, and operational phases. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders to protect Water Corporation’s commercial interests, contributing to major projects such as desalination plant alliances, water transfer agreements with BHP and Rio Tinto, and future infrastructure initiatives including Alkimos and regional desalination plants.

What the role will involve
- This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initiation to execution, to closeout. Responsibilities include:
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and aligning with organisational objectives.
- Monitor contract performance, track milestones and deliverables, and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement specific compliance and assurance checks, audits, and investigations.
- Optimise contract value, minimise risk, and ensuring all contract deliverables are met and all parties are meeting their obligations under the contracts.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This includes organising and participating in project development and ongoing relationship meetings, coordinate and work with regional management, other business units and stakeholders to develop working protocols, plans and documentation required for operations and maintenance phase.
- Update, review and provide recommendation on changes to the Working Protocols, Contract Management Plan, Governance, Assurance documentation and any associated documentation such as schedules, matrixes, and checklists.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters and may develop training programs to educate employees.
Your skills and experience

- Degree level qualification in Commerce or equivalent.
- Substantial contract management experience in providing services to customers in a service environment.
- Substantial experience and ability in communication, relationship management and key stakeholder influence.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly developed report writing and contract management skills.
- Relevant experience in water treatment process and water quality principles desirable.
