About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for a motivated and capable Senior Engineer – Geotechnical to join our Dams & Dam Safety team in Leederville. In this role, you’ll support the investigation, planning and design of geotechnical aspects for water infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

This is a great opportunity for an early to mid-career geotechnical engineer to expand their expertise, contribute to meaningful infrastructure outcomes, and work closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

What the role will involve

  • Supporting geotechnical investigations, planning and analysis for new and existing infrastructure assets
  • Preparing or contributing to geotechnical design reports, assessments, and technical documentation
  • Assisting in the review of consultant deliverables, including design inputs and tender specifications
  • Providing practical and technical advice to project teams through the design and delivery process
  • Preparing briefs and supporting the evaluation of consultant and contractor proposals
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure project outcomes align with standards and requirements
  • Supporting quality processes and continuous improvement in geotechnical design practices
  • Helping to coach or mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability

Key skills and experience

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related field
  • Relevant experience in geotechnical investigations, analysis or design within infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards, legislation, and design processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external consultants, and regulators
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical and solution-focused mindset
  • Competence in engineering software and standard Microsoft applications

Desirable but not essential:

  • Familiarity with dam safety, groundwater, or soil conditions in infrastructure contexts
  • Experience contributing to infrastructure planning or remedial design work
  • Knowledge of project management or design governance processes
