About the role:
Are you a visionary financial leader with a passion for sustainability and strategic impact? We are seeking a dynamic Head of Financial Services to lead our Financial Services team. Reporting to the CFO, this permanent position will be responsible for the development of budget and price submissions to Government, statutory financial reporting, corporate finance, ensuring the Corporation meets financial requirements through driving efficiency and improving productivity.
Along with providing support to the Board, Executive, General Managers, this position is the key stakeholder manager for the Department of Treasury, Office of the Auditor General and Western Australian Treasury Corporation. You will champion a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and customer-focused financial services.
What the role will involve:
- Drive financial, operational, and organizational performance across Business Units by delivering insights, identifying opportunities, and enabling high-impact decision-making.
- Lead a team of decentralised Strategic Finance Managers embedded across the business, delivering budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury management, commercial analysis, and decision support to General Managers and their leadership teams.
- Ensure that financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
- Ensure the annual financial accounts are completed in line with Accounting Standards, Government requirements, Ministerial expectations and within the timelines required by the Office of the Auditor General.
- Communicate, facilitate, and influence decision making in the areas of holistic strategic planning process, financial strategy formation including funding sources and pricing, and monitoring, business planning and performance reporting.
- As a member of the Corporation’s Senior Management Team, actively contribute to the development and execution of the sustainable financial strategy, setting of performance measures, design, and achievement of key business objectives.
Key skills and experience:
Your background and wide-ranging grasp of financial management, modelling, pricing, and forecasting gives you the insights to continually improve ways of working and find better outcomes for customers.
