As a Mechanical Tradesperson within the Gascoyne team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and installing components for water and wastewater systems across our schemes, ensuring reliable water services to homes and communities throughout the region. This is a hands-on, varied role that will keep you challenged and engaged every day also opportunity to progress in trades framework.

What you can expect with this role

• Perform maintenance and fault-finding on water and wastewater treatment systems, including complex treatment plants.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pumping systems, including submersible, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Service and repair diesel generators, engines, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot diesel and electric borefield infrastructure and desalination equipment.
• Inspect, maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including piston and rotary-type equipment.
• Participate in a rotating standby roster, occasional callouts, and travel away from home as required.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for a person with:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate
• Motivated and positive individual who is able to work as a team or independently
• Experience in the water and wastewater industry
• High-risk licences including confined space, working at heights, Forklift, Dogman & Vehicle loading Crane (desirable)
• Trained in self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and Atmospheric monitoring (desirable)
• HR Driver licence (Desirable)
• Preferred chlorine trained but not essential
