Who are we?

For generations, water has helped shape Western Australia, supporting our communities, industries, environment and way of life.

Now, Water Corporation is looking for skilled people to play an important role for the people of Western Australia.

We are scaling up a major statewide maintenance uplift program and building a dedicated crew of Mechanical Tradespeople to support it. This is a mobile operation working on pumps, valves and mechanical plant across Western Australia. It is an opportunity to work on a broad range of assets, not the same tasks in the same workshop every day.

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Tradespeople, Fitters and Mechanical Technicians, with a strong safety focus, sound judgement and the ability to work across multiple sites as part of a structured mobilisation program.

If you are looking for meaningful work, variety and the chance to make a real impact across WA, there has never been a better time to join us.

To thrive in this role, you'll have:

  • Proven mechanical trade experience, ideally involving pumps, valves or process plant.
  • The ability to work independently and make safety critical decisions on site.
  • A strong focus on quality assurance and water safety standards.
  • Resilience to work in varying environments, including remote locations and changing conditions.
  • A genuine willingness to travel throughout regional and remote Western Australia as part of a planned mobilisation roster.

What you can expect in this role

Keep critical assets operating: Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and overhauls on pumps, valves and mechanical plant across multiple operational sites.

Solve meaningful challenges: Diagnose and rectify faults on infrastructure that supports essential services, often in challenging operational environments.

Work on a diverse range of assets and infrastructure, developing a wider skill set than most site-based roles.

Work within Perth metro and regional sites across WA: These positions support sites across the state, meaning travel and overnight stays are likely.

What we are looking for

  • Trade qualification: Fitter, Mechanical Technician or equivalent trade certification.
  • Industry experience: Experience in utilities, mining, industrial maintenance or similar environments will be highly regarded.
  • Diagnostic mindset: The ability to analyse and understand problems before determining the best solution.
  • Mobility and travel commitment: Willingness and ability to travel regularly to regional and remote locations
  • Valid WA Drivers Licence

Why work with us?

  • You will be supporting communities that rely on critical water infrastructure every day.
  • Build a stable and meaningful career with Water Corporation while contributing to one of our largest infrastructure programs.
  • Join a mobile maintenance crew that supports one another and works together to achieve safe and effective outcomes.
  • Access training and development opportunities across a broad range of plant and equipment.

Real benefits that matter

  • Competitive travel and site allowances designed for genuine statewide mobilisation.
  • Planned rosters that balance time on site with time at home.
  • Two wellbeing days each year to recharge, relax and enjoy life, separate to standard paid sick and personal leave.
  • Access long service leave after three years of service.
  • Take advantage of our co contribution superannuation scheme. Receive a 12% employer contribution and enjoy an additional 2% employer co contribution when you elect to salary sacrifice 2%.
  • Annual leave loading, an extra 17.5% pay when you use your annual leave.
  • Option to purchase additional leave of up to 12 weeks or work four years at a reduced salary and take the fifth year off as paid leave.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and ceremonial leave of up to five days so you can maintain your cultural connection and wellbeing.
