About the role 

The Lead Truth Telling will manage the development, implementation, and delivery of truth-telling initiatives across Water Corporation to recognise the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and country. You will lead the development and integration of a Cultural Intelligence Framework across the Corporation to strengthen and deepen knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, people and communities.

What the role will involve

  • Lead the development and implementation of projects and initiatives focused on truth telling of Water Corporation sites and assets.
  • Uplift cultural acknowledgement of Water Corporation sites and assets by embedding Aboriginal perspectives and values into project planning and project implementation.
  • Lead the truth telling team on initiatives and project planning and execution, including strategic advice, resource allocation and progress monitoring to ensure projects are achieved within established timelines while optimising budget and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on truth telling projects and initiatives, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of the Aboriginal Cultural Intelligence Framework, providing advice and utilising change management principles and associated tools to ensure successful implementation and delivery of projects.
  • Increase the knowledge, understanding and respect of Aboriginal histories and culture to support the Corporations reconciliation journey.
  • Extensive experience in Aboriginal culture, history and impacts of past and present policies.
  • Extensive experience in guiding and influencing key stakeholders through a change journey.
  • Substantial experience with leading the implementation and management of organisational programs of change in a large commercial organisation.
  • Substantial experience in organisational program management approaches, methodologies and life cycle planning.
  • Considerable experience in articulating the business case for change and demonstrating the benefits of change management.

  • Extensive experience in Aboriginal culture, history and impacts of past and present policies
  • Extensive experience in guiding and influencing key stakeholders through a change journey
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change and project management principles and practices.
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate to and engage stakeholders of various backgrounds and experiences in a culturally intelligent manner
  • Passion and drive to champion Aboriginal advancement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes with clear and consistent
