Currently, we have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Experience Designer within the Customer Experience Business Unit. This role is ideal for an experienced service designer, customer experience designer or human-centred design practitioner.

About the role

As an Experience Designer, you'll join a team of practitioners working across complex customer and business challenges to uncover customer needs, shape future services and improve experiences across the end-to-end journey.

Working with stakeholders across the business you’ll apply human-centred design approaches to:

  • Understand customer needs through research and insights
  • Identify opportunities for improvement across journeys and services
  • Design and test new service concepts and experiences
  • Create service blueprints and future-state experiences
  • Support delivery teams to implement and measure outcomes

What you can expect with this role

  • Work with a team of designers and analysts who are passionate about collaborative problem solving and evidence-based decision making.
  • Drive a deeper understanding of customer needs, behaviours and pain points through customer research, insights and data, identifying opportunities to improve experiences across key customer journeys.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to define problems, prioritise opportunities and design customer-centred solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Improve customer experiences through the application of human-centred design and service design methodologies, creating future-state journeys, service blueprints and experience concepts.
  • Influence sustainable water use behaviours through the design and enhancement of Waterwise programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design activities that build alignment, generate ideas and bring diverse perspectives together to solve complex challenges.
  • Develop and test concepts, prototypes and pilot initiatives, working with delivery teams to translate ideas into measurable customer and business outcomes.

Your skills and experience

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a digital, communications, design, behaviour change or customer service-related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience applying human-centred design, service design or customer experience methodologies in complex environments.
  • Experience in undertaking customer research and insights analysis.
  • Strong ability to translate customer research and insights into actionable service improvements.
  • Experience designing and testing concepts, prototypes and service solutions.
  • Confidence facilitating workshops with cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence decision-making through storytelling, visualisation and evidence-based recommendations.
