About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Planner – Wastewater Operations to join our Scheme Operations team within the Operations Centre. Reporting to the Manager – Wastewater Operations, this new role is responsible for delivering operational planning, analysis and optimisation services across Western Australian wastewater conveyance networks.
Working closely with Network Operations, Asset Management, Infrastructure Planning, Projects and external consultants, you will provide technical leadership and operational expertise to ensure wastewater conveyance assets operate safely, efficiently and within regulatory and budgetary requirements. This role plays a key part in identifying improvement opportunities whilst also supporting incident management.
Please note this role may require you to work outside of core business hours.

What you can expect with this role
- Lead investigations, operational planning and scheduling activities for wastewater conveyance networks, identifying risks, constraints and improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain operational planning processes, procedures, models and tools that support efficient and reliable network performance
- Provide specialist operational input into infrastructure planning, asset management initiatives and the design of new wastewater assets
- Coordinate asset availability and operational requirements for maintenance and project activities, ensuring service and operational risks are effectively managed
- Prepare technical reports, business cases and briefing papers for senior leadership, providing clear recommendations on operational issues and network performance
- Support incident response activities, mentor Network Planners and contribute to a positive, safety-focused and high-performing team culture
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Degree level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline and substantial wastewater conveyance related operational experience
- Significant experience in wastewater engineering, hydraulic modelling, operational data analysis, and operational planning within complex infrastructure environments
- Sound knowledge of wastewater conveyance systems, operational practices and relevant regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess technical information and develop practical solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
