About the role:
Join a dynamic team of dedicated communications professionals who work on a range of water, wastewater, and drainage infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
You will support Water Corporation to deliver complex projects through effective stakeholder and community engagement within the Regional Community Engagement team.
You will have considerable experience developing and delivering community engagement strategies and materials and an ability to influence others to deliver a more customer-focused outcome.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Develop, implement and maintain effective communication and community engagement strategies to support delivery of high profile, contentious and/or complex projects.
- Undertake strategic analysis in planning for and delivering successful stakeholder and community engagement strategies.
- Produce content for print and digital channels.
- Manage relationships with the project team, key stakeholders (both internal and external) and community to deliver project outcomes.
- Manage and maintain customer and stakeholder interactions in databases and reporting systems including Grange and Omni.
- Contribute to the development of business processes to support effective management of communications, stakeholder and community engagement.
- Coordinate announcements and government relations support with the Media Team and Ministerial Liaison Unit.
Key skills and experience:
- Tertiary level qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline or substantial experience in communications, stakeholder and issues management.
- Considerable experience in community engagement, stakeholder and issues management, ideally for a large multi-disciplined organisation
- Experience in Ministerial engagement and/or working with government processes.
- A positive, effective communication style with strong influencing skills.
- The ability to work independently in a high pressure environment managing conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to summarise complex issues for common use.
- A strong alignment and commitment to our values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture.
- Prior IAP2 training desired but not essential.
- Ability to travel to and work from project sites in regional areas.
