About the role
We have two permanent fulltime opportunities for an Officer – Field Investigation role joining the Commercial & Industrial Service Section.
Based in Balcatta, this role combines field-based inspections, investigations and customer engagement to help protect Water Corporation’s wastewater network, treatment systems and scheme water supply.
As an Officer – Field Investigation, you’ll be responsible to coordinate and deliver the Corporation’s Commercial and Industrial Services activities to the prescribed policies, standards and guidelines to ensure that customer-related activities do not compromise the integrity or operation of Corporation’s services and assets. What you can expect with this role
- Undertake activities designed to investigate, evaluate and report on Commercial and Industrial Services’ customers
- Water use investigation of properties to determine Non-Residential Discharge Factors
- Plan and undertake activities associated with Commercial and Industrial Services’ backflow and trade waste customer compliance management programs, including field inspections. This will involve manual handling work
- Developing positive working relationships with business customers, contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Preparing accurate reports, documenting investigation findings and tracking customer improvement actions.
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Substantial experience in undertaking customer compliance related field inspections
- Demonstrated experience in resolving noncompliance and disputes with business customers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated capability of developing and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated high level of organisation skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently plan and schedule work within a structured process-based environment
- Awareness in applicable regulations and standards for trade waste and backflow prevention compliance management, and property water use investigations will be considered favourably
- A flexible attitude and the ability to operate in a changing environment will be highly regarded.
- Current driver’s licence (minimum C Class)
