As a Catchment Ranger, you will join our Operations Services team to provide support in the management of forty-five water reserves and associated facilities, extending across an area from Exmouth in the north, to Guilderton and Bindoon in the south, and eastwards to the Murchison towns of Meekatharra and Cue.
In the role you will be required to:
- Monitor, maintain and manage the security of groundwater catchment areas across the region to ensure protection of the water source.
- Conduct routine surveillance and Bylaw enforcement during daytime and after hour's patrols.
- Identify and investigate non-compliances within the relevant regulatory and corporate framework.
- Undertake water quality sampling as required.
- Liaise with other agencies including Police, Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions, Department of Water and Environmental Regulation

About you
- You will need to be physically fit as there will be periods of working alone in remote areas and involving a significant amount of driving,
- An attitude that always puts working safety first.
- Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence (4WD experience desirable)
- Competent to undertake catchment surveillance and by-law enforcement.
- Field / industry experience, i.e. extensive experience in a customer service role with the public / previous Ranger role (or) Working Towards Certificate III of National Water Industry Training Package and considerable experience in either water-related operations, or customer service related role.
- Demonstrate sound information technology skills (computers, PDA’s, Geospatial mapping etc.).
