We’re offering a permanent position based in Karratha for a dedicated Water Industry Technician. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge ultrafiltration and Desalination water treatment plants. Your work will be essential in optimising performance through hands-on monitoring, system analysis, and proactive corrective measures.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance in a complex treatment plant (ultrafiltration water treatment plants and Desalination treatment plants)
  • Use full range of trade skills to maintain a complex treatment plant
  • Maintain, operate and optimise a complex treatment plant.
  • Use full range of treatment skills in a complex treatment plant & monitor scheme performance through automated control systems
  • Respond to repair tasks safely and efficiently, maintaining operational reliability
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a skilled and dynamic treatment team
  • Join an on-call standby roster once trained in plant operations, contributing to 24/7 service continuity

What we’re looking for:

  • Trade qualified in electrical or mechanical fitting, with Process & SCADA experience viewed as a strong advantage
  • Certificate II or higher in Water Industry Operations (Treatment) preferred, though not essential
  • High Risk Licences (LF, EWP, DG, CV) desirable, but not mandatory
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively, with the flexibility to participate in a standby roster
