The Finance Manager - Customer Investment & Inventory role is primarily responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting for customer investment, retail and inventory. Ensure that stock is accounted for in accordance with accounting policies, as well as managing the financial accounting and reporting for the Other Margin section of the P&L.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Manage the inventory and subsidy month end process to ensure all journals and reconciliations are done on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly timetable.
Ensure all inventory items are correctly valued in the accounts, and standard costs are set and maintained as per the existing accounting policy.
Manage purchase price variance account including review of pricing decisions and monitoring of status of rebate accounts with vendors.
Be the Finance contact to the business areas relating to Retail Sales, COGS reporting and analysis, inventory queries and accounting questions relating to logistics and inventory.
Manage the Balance Sheet reconciliations for all assigned account codes, investigate and resolve variance and comply with the Vodafone Governance guidelines
Prepare monthly CTA/CTR/CTM Analysis, including month-end review and commentary for Financial Reporting Team, Finance Business Partnering Team and Senior Management.
Responsible for the month end reporting of the Other Margin section of the P&L.
Review of slow moving and obsolete stock policy ensuring that all stock is carried at the lower of cost and net realisable value and issues are escalated appropriately.
Provide guidance and support to logistics staff on systems and financial impacts of new processes and activities. Ensure those processes align with finance processes before being implemented.
Review and provide guidance on interaction with handset manufacturers in terms of contracts, swap stock, rebates, product servicing and DOA process
Be the Handset Revenue Accounting SME for the business
Coach, support and help with the skills development of the more junior team members
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
You will be CA / CPA qualified with inventory experience in a large, complex environment. Your strong communication skills allow you to articulate financial language to non-accountants, as well as the ability to develop relationships with both shareholders and key management. You will have experience working with Financial Reporting, Tax & Treasury, Pricing and Finance Business Partnering teams to understand and analyse month end results.
