As Head of Sustainability, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy in partnership with senior business stakeholders, focussing on risk mitigation, social reputation enhancement and corporate strategic and value creation objectives.

This will include establishing sustainability governance structures and reporting within the company, as well as helping enhance the company’s sustainability culture and employee engagement.

This is a challenging role, suitable for an experienced professional with the knowledge, vision, relationship building skills and passion to put their stamp on a newly merged company.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Own TPG’s sustainability strategy, policies and execution, collaborating with senior stakeholders from across the business to build and evolve the company’s vision for sustainability
  • Drive the setting of short and long term ESG-related goals and targets, and develop tools and processes to accurately measure performance against these targets
  • Develop an ESG reporting strategy, following industry's best practices on sustainability reporting and aligned with the ASX’s Corporate Governance Recommendations on ESG reporting (Principle 7.4), and lead the development of TPG’s annual Sustainability Report, including the assurance process and communications rollout to the wider TPG business
  • Establish and manage Sustainability Governance structures, ensuring these are working effectively to support delivery of the sustainability strategy
  • Be an advocate for sustainability across the business, building sustainability knowledge, passion and capability across the TPG management team and wider business
  • Engage with external stakeholders to build and foster key relationships, and communicate and promote TPG’s Sustainability approach and initiatives
  • Communicate with and educate internal and external audiences to create awareness, highlight successes and best practice
  • Identify external sustainability partnerships that can help propel TPG's ESG ambitions

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  • Commercial and strategic individual with a passion for using the tools of business to achieve both business and societal objectives
  • Several years relevant experience and a proven track record in leading development and implementation of complex sustainability programs in large companies, including the materiality assessment process
  • In-depth understanding of key material sustainability trends and the evolving expectations for responsibility and sustainability among various key stakeholders (e.g., shareholders, customers, governments, non-governmental organisations, etc.)
  • Understanding of leading corporate responsibility standards and frameworks and experience conducting gap analyses and action plans
  • Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships with senior internal partners, build consensus and prioritise action and results
  • Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation and strong written and oral communications skills
  • Professional presence to be a trusted representative of the company with key external stakeholders
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to completion
  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to thrive in an environment that is fast-paced and rapidly changing
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry an advantage
