POSITION: SR. CLIMATE OFFICER (GHG accounting)
REPORTS TO THE: Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Group Head
NOTE: This position is also open to retirees who still have that passion and drive to travel and share their capabilities and skills in the field
ASSIGNMENT TYPE: Program-based employment (2 years; subject to renewal) --- can either work as a full-time employee/consultancy-based (but must be willing to travel to Davao as the job requires)
LOCATION: Mindanao-wide (Davao-based/consultancy-based)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Forestry, Ecology, Agronomy, Natural Resource Management, Energy Technology, Conservation, Agriculture, Environmental Engineering or close related field
- Must have at least (5) years of experience in agriculture, forestry, ecosystem science, or international development with a strong knowledge of natural resource management issues in Mindanao and Visayas
- Experience working with NGOs, finance teams, and agri-business firms operating at the intersection of natural resource management
- Deep familiarity with software tools widely used in natural resource management (Excel, Access, Power Point, GIS, scripting languages like R or Python, etc.
- Understanding of ecosystem service markets and quantification of benefits related to community, biodiversity, and climate (optional: working knowledge on AFOLU and REDD+ projects under GHG programs, protocols, and methodologies of VCS-CCB standards
- Working knowledge on GHG quantification and accounting for ecosystems, such as forests, peatlands, mangroves, and agricultural land
- Demonstrated business-level fluency in both oral and written in English
- Good personal organizational and priority setting skills, with the ability to work effectively under time pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Capable of working independently as well as being an effective team player, completing tasks with initiative and creativity
- Multi-cultural management skills with diversified, context-specific approaches
- Excellent attention to detailed accuracy of processes and results
- High dedication to conservation, sustainable development, and climate action
- Proficiency in Visayan preferred
