• Work from the Shepparton office, visiting apprentices in the field across the region.


About us

As part of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce of Industry (VCCI) network of brands, Apprenticeship Support Australia has been contracted by the Australian Government to deliver a suite of apprenticeship and traineeship services through the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) across Australia to employers and individuals from pre-commencements through to completion of an apprenticeship/traineeship.


About the role

The objective of the role is to identify whether the apprentice or trainee (or employer where applicable) has encountered any issues that may affect the progression of the apprenticeship or traineeship through the life of the apprenticeship or traineeship and to determine the need for any additional support through progress contacts. The Advisor will monitor the progress of apprentices and trainees and their relationship with their employer face-to-face in workplaces. The overall objective of this role is to improve apprenticeship and traineeship retention and completion rates.


 About you

This position is well suited to a well organised individual who can work autonomously, thrives in a busy environment and has the ability to build rapport with various individuals such as apprentices, trainees and employers to assist with increasing apprenticeship/trainee completion rates. In addition to this, you will have:

  • The ability to build meaningful in person contact with apprentices and trainees and their employer to improve retention and completion rates.
  • The ability to detect basic and complex issues to be resolved.
  • Understanding of the Australian Apprenticeship System preferred, not essential.
  • Strong communication, liaison, and networking capabilities.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office, and the ability to use external computer-based databases.
  • The ability to interpret Government guidelines and other related legislation.

A drivers license is required to fulfil the inherent requirements of this role.
