Varsity is currently hiring a full-time Assistant Kitchen Manager for one of our NOR venues!

Yours roles and responsibilities:

  • Controlling and managing the general operation of the kitchen.
  • Monitoring overall staffing costs and working closely with the Kitchen Manager to control COG's, including but not limited to conducting and/or supervising the ordering process
  • Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a positive team culture with a strong pool of talent within your crew.
  • Managing general maintenance of the kitchen and the back of house areas.
  • Preparing and cooking high quality food using locally sourced ingredients.
  • Training and demonstrating food preparation techniques to team members, maintaining quality and whilst ensuring a high level of hygiene and food safety compliance.
  • Enforce company policies, staff policies, and service standards.

 The Experience You'll Have:

  • Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a management role
  • A sound understanding of BOH operations.
  • Ability to supervise operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to build, lead, train, and motivate a team.
  • Passionate hospitality professional.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to create and maintain a culture of service excellence.
  • A sound understanding of the costs involved with the management of a successful business.

Salary range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000.
