Due to rapid expansion, and internal promotions, Varsity are looking for Junior Managers (Duty Managers, Assistant Kitchen Managers 4IC/3IC) across our venues in Innaloo, Morley, Northbridge, Nedlands, Joondalup and Whitfords!

Purpose

Simply put, the purpose of a Varsity Junior Kitchen Manager is to assist the Kitchen Management in running the kitchen team. This role is all about teamwork, leadership and ensuring our culinary game is on point.

Responsibilities

Kitchen MVP:

  • Step up and take charge in the absence of the Senior Kitchen Managers, leading our back of house team to victory and ensuring a winning kitchen operation.
  • Lead by example, inspiring and coaching our kitchen team to greatness. Ignite their passion for the burger game, motivating them to create legendary dishes.

Customer Hero:

  • Use your problem-solving skills to tackle customer complaints, turning them into cheers and high-fives. No burger challenge can outmatch your game.

Squad Builder:

  • Assemble a legendary kitchen team, scouting top talent, and training them to be burger game-changers.

Stock Powerhouse:

  • Unleash your ordering abilities, summoning stock from our suppliers to keep our kitchen arsenal fully loaded. Ensuring your kitchen is ready for even the busiest of game days.

Metrics All-Star:

  • Master the numbers game like a true sports legend, smashing KPIs with precision. Keep a watchful eye on food costs, wages, and wastage, ensuring victory on all fronts.

Quality Defender:

  • Guard the honour of our burgers with taste bud superpowers. Ensure every patty is a champion in taste and presentation, leaving our customers cheering for more.

Cleanliness Extraordinaire:

  • Channel your inner cleanliness champion, keeping our kitchen gleaming with the brilliance of a winning trophy. Maintain a pristine, sanitized, and inspiring space for our culinary warriors.

Requirements

  • Possess formal culinary training or relevant experience that showcases your mastery of the kitchen arts.
  • Exhibit exceptional time management skills, ensuring efficient food preparation and timely delivery of orders.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Embrace teamwork and collaboration, working harmoniously with FOH and BOH team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Have the physical endurance to handle the demands of a busy kitchen, standing for long periods and handling heavy equipment. Your energy and resilience will keep you going strong throughout the burger battle.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
