Due to rapid expansion, and internal promotions, Varsity are looking for Senior Managers (Kitchen Managers and Assistant Kitchen Managers) across our venues in Waterford, Fremantle and our newest venue in Cannington!

Purpose

As a Varsity Senior Kitchen Manager your mission is to lead the kitchen. This position encompasses two crucial aspects: "management" and "coaching." As the culinary captain, you'll expertly handle schedules, people, and their unique personalities while coaching and elevating your team to the exceptional level required of a Varsity kitchen team.

Responsibilities

The Multitasking Maestro:

  • Command a team of energetic and diverse personalities. Lead the kitchen to greatness!
  • Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring unwavering adherence to the highest food and safety standards. Picture yourself as the head coach of a culinary dream team.

The Food General:

  • Seize control of food orders and ensure our kitchen is perpetually stocked and primed to create irresistible burgers and tantalizing pizzas.
  • Supervise food preparation and cooking, guaranteeing each burger patty boasts perfect juiciness and every pizza crust achieves a satisfying crispness.

Roster Hero:

  • Embrace the challenge of crafting rosters.
  • Manage with precision and finesse, flawlessly hitting KPI targets for staff labour and food costs.
  • Exercise your power over food wastage, utilizing every ingredient to its maximum potential.

The Kitchen Detective:

  • Conduct venue audits like a shrewd detective, savouring each dish, inspecting every nook and cranny of the kitchen, and undertaking meticulous stocktakes. Your legendary attention to detail will amaze! A tidy kitchen is the foundation for culinary triumph.

Administrative Whiz:

  • Tackle administrative duties, handle approvals, payroll reports, emails, and calendar management with unwavering organizational prowess. Recruit, hire, and train new kitchen heroes, moulding them into culinary champions worthy of our sports-loving paradise.

Seeker of Knowledge:

  • Lead by example, inspiring your kitchen team to reach their full potential. Share your wisdom and ignite your teams passion for the art of the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar role within the culinary industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
