Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 per annum (depending on experience + plus super + NFP salary packaging

About the role
The Senior Project Officer, Aged Care & Elders works within VACCHO’s Aged Care Team to coordinate Aboriginal Aged Care initiatives across the Victorian ACCO sector. This includes supporting sector governance and workforce development activities across Aged Care and Elders programs.
This role involves developing in-depth insight and understanding of the Aged Care workforce across Victorian ACCOs and responding flexibly to the emerging needs of workers and their ACCOs. The role also involves convening and facilitating discussions about the changing landscape in Aged Care and sharing knowledge and information across the sector to ensure that our workforce has good awareness and confidence to navigate change.
Essential skills/experiences
To be successful in this role, you will have a thorough understanding of the Australian My Aged Care system and the effects on older Aboriginal people and Elders. You will be an approachable and organised go getter who has mastered the art of building rapport and taking stakeholder relationships and engagement to the next level.
We are looking for someone who:
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience in the Aboriginal aged care, health or disability services, working with Community and older Aboriginal people and Elders.
- Experience in a system navigation (or client advocacy) role.
- Can travel when required.
- Has experience working in or with ACCOs, government departments, Aged Care providers.
- Just as importantly, we’d love it if you love a good laugh!
Desirable
- Experience working in the Not-for-profit sector.
- Experience in event management
