Position Overview
This fixed term role (6 weeks full time equivalent) is critical in supporting the quality assurance and compliance framework for vocational education and training products. The Validator will be responsible for reviewing assessment tools and mapping documents across three nationally accredited qualifications (approximately 44 Units).
The purpose of this role is to conduct validation against training package requirements and generate validation reports identifying gaps, non-compliance or areas for improvement. This is a pivotal role in ensuring our assessment practices meet national standards, supporting continuous improvement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Validation and Compliance Review
- Conduct validation of training and assessment tools of units of competency from the following qualifications: CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support and ACM20121 Certificate II in Animal Care
- Review mapping documentation to ensure alignment with unit and training package requirements.
- Assess tools for compliance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence as outlined by the National Standards for RTOs.
- Identify any over-assessment, under-assessment, duplication, or gaps in assessment.
- Prepare validation reports per unit of competency, including:
- Non-compliance findings
- Recommendations for rectification or redevelopment
- Commentary on sufficiency, authenticity, validity, and reliability of evidence.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed validation records for audit and quality purposes.
- Ensure that reports are professional, structured, and support evidence-informed recommendations.
- Liaise with quality and resource development teams to clarify validation outcomes as required.
Time and Delivery Management
- Approximately 44 units for validation.
- Estimated 4–5 hours per unit (including reporting).
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet the delivery schedule.
- Work independently and take initiative in a self-directed environment.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in the validation of VET training and assessment materials, ideally across multiple qualifications.
- In-depth understanding of training package requirements and the vocational education compliance landscape.
- Hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its equivalent.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills, particularly in relation to compliance documentation.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work autonomously.
Desirable
- Experience validating assessment materials in the Community Services, Health, or Animal Care sectors.
- Familiarity with online learning or assessment platforms.

- Short-term opportunity: Approximately 6 weeks full-time equivalence, with the possibility to negotiate weekly hours and extend the timeframe for part-time arrangements.
