As an Education Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our teaching academics’ professional growth and enhancing the quality of teaching across our university through academic professional development. You’ll work closely with faculty members, contribute to quality teaching practices, and help shape the future of education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with teaching academics to enhance their pedagogical skills.
  • Assist in the delivery of academic professional development programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Create and curate resources for teaching excellence, including workshops, online materials, and a dedicated website.
  • Facilitate consultations and workshops with academic teaching staff.
  • Provide evidence-based advice grounded in educational theory.
  • Establish strong relationships with faculty, staff, and other campus stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about current education best practices.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of course re-design initiatives.

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level and will be based at Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

About the Unit

The Learning Design and Teaching Innovation unit support academic staff to provide innovative and engaging learning experiences in a changing and complex learning environment. LDTI offer curriculum design support, pedagogical advice and training, high quality resource creation, and also administer, and manage the ongoing evolution of, the University’s virtual learning environment.
