We're seeking a forward-thinking individual to join the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (ODVCA). In this role, you'll provide strategic guidance and operational support to enhance student development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders and committees
  • Crafting compelling papers, briefings, and submissions
  • Setting strategic directions and managing resources effectively
  • Making informed, independent decisions as needed

As a key contributor, you'll shape the university's positioning and stakeholder strategy, both internally and externally. Your ability to thrive under pressure, coupled with your track record of providing evidence-based advice in complex organisations, will be invaluable.

This continuing position is full-time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

The remuneration for this position is $140,139 per annum + 17% superannuation.

  1. Demonstrated experience in the provision of expert, authoritative and strategic advice and service to senior executives, with a demonstrated capacity to present viable, evidence-based recommendations that incorporate financial, strategic, policy and resource considerations.
  2. Demonstrated leadership capability including the ability to lead/inspire a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional performance/outcomes.
  3. Demonstrated high level analytical, research, reporting and writing skills, including experience in writing position papers, briefings and government submissions and the ability to interpret and analyse quantitative and qualitative data.
  4. Broad knowledge and understanding of the Australian and international higher education sector and external factors and issues relevant to it.
