The Role
As the China Marketing Coordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering targeted marketing campaigns that build the University of Newcastle's profile in the Greater China region and support international student recruitment. Combining creativity with data-driven decision making, you'll develop compelling content, manage the University's China-facing digital channels, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University to connect with prospective students.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of campaigns and social media strategy for one of the University's key international markets while enjoying the benefits of working in a supportive and collaborative marketing team. In this role you will:
- Develop and deliver tailored marketing campaigns to support student recruitment across the China market.
- Create engaging Chinese-language content for digital, social, web, and print channels.
- Manage and maintain the University's China microsite and corporate Chinese social media platforms.
- Coordinate the translation and quality assurance of marketing materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and brand alignment.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyse results and provide insights to inform future marketing activity.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the University to deliver coordinated recruitment initiatives.
About you
This role is ideal for someone who has:
- Exceptional written communication and copywriting skills in Mandarin Chinese.
- Experience creating engaging digital content and delivering successful marketing campaigns.
- Experience managing Chinese social media platforms and developing audience-focused content.
- Skills in social media content creation and editing software to produce engaging multimedia such as CapCut, Yiban (or other WeChat editors)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing in priorities.
- A collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
This fixed term role is full time for 18 months at a HEW 6 Higher Education Worker Level and is located at Callaghan Campus.
