This role sits within the Resource Division, Human Resource Services (HRS) unit that provides a broad range of HR services across all areas of the University. This role works closely with other HR teams including Employee Experience, Talent Acquisition, HR Advisory Support, Remuneration and Benefits, Wellbeing, Health & Safety and Employee Relations.

 

What you will be responsible for

Your overarching objective is to lead a team of learning and development professionals with the ultimate goal of building leader and employee capability across the University. To do this you will build strong relationships with others within the HRS team and across the University.

Your key areas of responsibility will be: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive staff Learning & Development Strategy aligned with the University's strategic goals. 
  • Lead the design and delivery of innovative Learning & Development Programs
  • Oversee the University's Onboarding and Mandatory Training Programs
  • Manage Systems, Processes and Technology to maximise the effectiveness and impact of learning opportunities.

  • A passion for building leader and employee capability;
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and support a diverse team;
  • The ability to build relationships with, and influence, a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Advanced planning, project management and change management skills;
  • Ability to effectively utilise technology and systems

Experience from the education sector is not a dealbreaker - we have successfully supported the transition into our team of those whose experience has been acquired in other large, complex environments.


Remuneration and Benefits

This is a continuing (permanent) appointment.

The salary range for this position is from $130,798 to $140,139 per annum.

In addition to the salary, you will receive an employer superannuation contribution of up to 17%.

Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.

We offer a range of benefits and employment conditions that help you balance your commitments, stay healthy and work effectively, including a range of leave options.

Your primary place of work will be our Callaghan campus.
