Are you passionate about driving meaningful change in environmental sustainability?

As Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will lead the University’s sustainability agenda, delivering on the Environmental Sustainability Plan and shaping the next phase of strategic initiatives through to 2030.

You’ll play a pivotal role in embedding sustainability into infrastructure, operations, and culture – creating a greener, more resource-efficient campus.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the implementation of the University’s Environmental Sustainability Plan, ensuring delivery of key initiatives and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmentally sustainable design standards across major infrastructure projects.
  • Represent the University in internal and external forums, to influence and advocate for sustainability outcomes.
  • Manage energy and carbon strategies, including renewable energy procurement and the development of a revised Carbon Management Plan.
  • Oversee key reporting obligations, ensuring compliance and transparency.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

 

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate sustainability, with a strong track record of delivering initiatives and driving operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of environmental legislation across all government levels, including applicable standards and codes of practice.
  • Strong project management and leadership capability, with the ability to guide a direct report and provide strategic oversight.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across senior leadership, project teams, and external partners.

 

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $136,030 to $145,745 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
