As Global Experience Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting international learning opportunities for University of Newcastle students, helping them access transformative overseas programs as part of their studies.
You will coordinate projects, work closely with academic staff, and contribute to the smooth delivery of a diverse range of global mobility initiatives, with a strong focus on short‑term programs supported by the New Colombo Plan.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate key stages of global experience programs, including applications, risk and compliance processes, funding administration, and program reporting.
- Provide accurate, timely support to students, academic staff, and external partners to ensure programs run efficiently and meet required standards.
- Maintain high‑quality records and data, preparing reports and insights that support effective program evaluation and improvement.
- Organise and deliver program activities such as pre‑departure briefings, information sessions, orientations, and other student‑facing events.
This 12-month fixed term position is part time (0.6 FTE) and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

- Well‑developed data literacy, with the ability to analyse information, interpret trends, and work confidently within enterprise systems such as CRMs, student management systems, and Microsoft 365.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work productively within team.

The remuneration for this position Higher Education Worker Level 5 pro-rated + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

- Completion of a degree without subsequent work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional administration experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in complex project coordination and administration, including compliance and reporting for funded programs, risk assessment processes, event management, and hosting activities, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to gain a detailed understanding of the student mobility and international education market, including university and higher education policies, external environment, and funding guidelines, with proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Demonstrated data literacy, including the ability to collect, analyse, and report data for program evaluation and improvement; interpret charts and metrics; identify trends; and develop technical proficiency within enterprise-scale systems such as CRM, student management systems, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders and working collaboratively in a team environment, while adhering to workplace policies and procedures in areas such as work health and safety, equity, diversity, and respectful workplace culture.
