As the Communications Specialist, Internal you will lead the development of communication strategies that connect, inform and inspire our staff.

This is a high-impact role with visibility across the University, offering the chance to work closely with senior leaders and share the stories that celebrate the achievements and positive impact of our people.

You will help shape the direction of internal communications, set strategy, and take ownership of outcomes that support staff engagement and organisational goals.

In this role you will:

  • Design and deliver internal communication plans that support strategic priorities and strengthen staff engagement.
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on communication approaches for complex and sensitive matters.
  • Lead storytelling initiatives that showcase staff achievements, fostering a sense of pride and connection.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

 

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Proven experience in internal communications within a large, complex organisation, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic mindset with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • The ability to build relationships across diverse teams and influence communication outcomes at a strategic level.
  • Demonstrated experience using SharePoint to support communication and collaboration is highly regarded.

The remuneration for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 7 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
