As Project Officer (Communications and Engagement), you will be responsible for creating and delivering cohesive communications and messaging, both for internal and external audiences, for the campaigns managed by the Office of Alumni and Philanthropy (OAP).

You will work with teams across OAP to create campaign messaging that inspires alumni and philanthropic engagement.

In this role you will:

  • Support the development of engaging internal and external campaign communication plans that outlines key themes and messages.
  • Prepare, proof, and edit copies for digital and print media including video scripts, social media content, web content, and other promotional materials.
  • Provide a range of project support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, resource coordination, and project documentation, planning, and implementation to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

This fixed term position is until December 2025, is part time (0.6FTE), and will be located at the Newcastle City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 pro-rated plus 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Completion of a Marketing, Business or Communications or related degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant experience in marketing, communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Demonstrated experience producing on-strategy content with high attention to detail and knowledge of best practices to maximise audience engagement and minimise risk.
  3. Excellent written communications skills with demonstrated ability to write compelling content for a variety of channels with strong project coordination skills.
  4. Demonstrated attention to detail with high-level administrative skills, including competency Office 365 and exposure to corporate systems such as CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) databases and project management software.
  5. Proven organization and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and expectations through multi-tasking, prioritising, and problem-solving.
