The role

The University of Newcastle is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking TRaCE Education Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of innovative education initiatives aligned to the Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) program.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of education, industry, workforce development and innovation, supporting the design and implementation of microcredentials, short courses and experiential learning opportunities that help upskill today’s workforce and build tomorrow’s talent pipeline.

Working closely with the College of Engineering, Science and Environment, the TRaCE Business Unit, academic staff, partner universities and industry stakeholders, you will play a key role in turning strategic priorities into practical, high-impact educational outcomes.

What you’ll do:

As the TRaCE Education Manager, you will coordinate the delivery of education projects and activities that contribute to the success of the TRaCE program and support the University’s broader strategic priorities.

You will lead the planning, development and implementation of education-focused projects, with a particular emphasis on microcredentials, short courses, and work integrated or experiential learning opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who can confidently move between project management, stakeholder engagement, education development and implementation, while maintaining a clear focus on quality, outcomes and impact. This includes:

  • Coordinate and deliver education projects and initiatives aligned to the TRaCE program
  • Support the development, pilot and implementation of microcredentials, short courses and other innovative education products
  • Work with academic and professional staff to coordinate program and course development activity
  • Support the design and delivery of experiential and work integrated learning opportunities
  • Build strong and productive relationships across the University, partner universities, industry and community stakeholders
  • Act as a key conduit between the TRaCE Business Unit, College education teams, Schools and project stakeholders
  • Develop project plans, manage timelines and coordinate working groups to ensure milestones and outcomes are achieved
  • Prepare project reports, communications, presentations and briefing materials to support governance and decision-making
  • Identify risks, constraints and improvement opportunities, and contribute to effective planning and continuous improvement
  • Ensure education initiatives align with relevant University teaching and learning standards, policies, quality assurance frameworks and strategic priorities

This fixed term position is full time for 12 months at a HEW 7 and is based at Callaghan Campus.

About you

You are a proactive and capable professional with experience in education project delivery, stakeholder coordination, and the development or implementation of learning initiatives.

You bring the confidence to work across a complex environment, balancing strategic intent with practical delivery, and you enjoy bringing people together to make progress.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience delivering or coordinating projects in education, higher education, training or a related environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders, including academic, professional and external partners
  • Knowledge of education systems, curriculum, course development or teaching and learning processes
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, presentations and project documentation
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team
  • Strong judgement, initiative and the ability to navigate complexity with confidence

The remuneration range for this position is from $103,641- $116,596p. a plus excellent employment conditions in line with University of Newcastle professional staff conditions such as:
