We are seeking a Project Officer to provide strategic project support within the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Unit of the College of Engineering, Science and Environment. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role offers variety, scope, and the opportunity to shape how projects are delivered across the College.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Project Manager in delivering strategic projects aligned with the University and College plans.
  • Develop project plans, track progress, and manage risks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence to inform decision-making and communicate outcomes.
  • Engage with academic and professional staff to coordinate initiatives and maintain strong relationships.
  • Research, analyse, and contribute to process improvements that advance College priorities.
  • Occasionally supervise project support staff and coordinate working groups as needed.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing change in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and the confidence to work independently while contributing to team goals.
  • Experience in a higher education or large, complex organisation.

This full-time position is a continuing role at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.
