ResLife Community Experience Coordinator (HEW 7)
Location: Callaghan Campus, Newcastle (with work across campuses)

The University of Newcastle is seeking a strategic, experienced, and people‑centred ResLife Community Experience Coordinator to lead engagement, marketing and communications, and community‑building initiatives across Student Living.
This leadership role is responsible for shaping the end‑to‑end residential student experience, from application through to departure, by delivering high‑quality engagement and multi‑channel communications campaigns. You’ll lead a small, specialist team and work closely with University stakeholders to ensure Student Living remains inclusive, connected, and student‑focused.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, ResLife Programs, the ResLife Community Experience Coordinator provides strategic direction across engagement, communications, and experience design for Student Living.
This role combines leadership, project management, creative direction, and stakeholder engagement. You will manage professional staff, oversee major campaigns and materials, and ensure communications and engagement activities align with University values, brand governance, and student needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of Student Living’s engagement and communications strategies and plans
- Manage and support the ResLife Content Officer and ResLife Programs Advisor, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement
- Plan and deliver multi‑channel engagement and marketing campaigns across the student lifecycle
- Oversee website, portal, and social media content, ensuring consistency with brand and governance frameworks
- Coordinate major engagement and promotional activities such as Move‑In Day, Open Day, precinct tours, and community activations
About You
You are a collaborative leader who understands how engagement, communication, and community‑building shape the student experience. You bring strong judgement, creativity, and organisational capability, and you’re comfortable leading teams and initiatives in complex, fast‑paced environments.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A relevant degree with substantial post‑qualification experience, or equivalent specialist expertise
- Demonstrated management experience, including the ability to lead and inspire professional staff
- Proven experience developing and delivering engagement and communications strategies, including social media
- Demonstrated capability in creative development of marketing and communication materials
- Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse groups
Desirable: Experience using a web content management system.
