This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact as we modernise our business intelligence and data platforms — including the modernisation of our data services platform through the implementation of Microsoft Fabric. You’ll play a central role in strengthening the University’s data warehousing and integration capabilities as part of the Information Assets Project, contributing to a robust and future-focused data services platform.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering, you’ll support the day-to-day development and operational activities within the Capability Area, ensuring seamless deployment and delivery of data-driven solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing, deploying, and maintaining software, infrastructure, and toolsets for CI/CD pipelines

• Assisting with the design, management, and monitoring of systems and platforms

• Diagnosing complex technical issues and improving program reporting and monitoring

• Supporting the implementation of modern DevOps and agile delivery practices

• Leading by example through mentorship, collaboration, and fostering continuous improvement

• Contributing to reusable automation libraries and APIs across the organisation

You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and efficient data operations aligned with the University’s digital and cyber governance standards.

About you

We’re looking for a collaborative professional who combines strong data warehousing and integration expertise with excellent leadership and people skills. You’ll be as comfortable coaching and mentoring colleagues as you are designing solutions.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in data warehousing, preferably with exposure to Microsoft Fabric

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and cloud technologies

• A proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and innovate

• Natural leadership skills and a genuine interest in developing others

Desirable skills include project management experience and familiarity with agile and modern web technologies.

This full-time position is a continuing role at a HEW 7 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.
