As Health and Wellbeing Advisor (Student Living) you will play a key role in shaping a supportive, safe, and thriving residential environment for students living on campus.
You will deliver high‑quality clinical support and wellbeing services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive timely, coordinated, and culturally informed assistance that supports their academic, social, and personal development.
In this role you will:
- Provide biopsychosocial‑cultural assessments and short‑term clinical support for residents experiencing a broad range of health, social, or wellbeing concerns.
- Identify and manage risks within your scope of practice, collaborating with internal teams and external providers to ensure integrated and effective care.
- Deliver proactive outreach, interventions, and wellbeing programs that foster a positive residential experience and strengthen help‑seeking pathways.
- Maintain accurate, confidential welfare records and contribute specialist advice to staff and partners on student wellbeing matters.
This 12-month fixed term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).
How will you inspire us?
You will have:
- A relevant allied health qualification with professional registration (AHPRA or AASW), and demonstrated experience delivering assessments, referrals, and brief interventions across diverse clinical presentations.
- Experience supporting students or young people in residential, complex, or dynamic environments, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across a multidisciplinary setting.
- A commitment to high‑quality, student‑centred practice and continuous improvement in the delivery of wellbeing services.

- Relevant allied health qualification (e.g. Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing). Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and minimum four years subsequent experience
- Demonstrated experience in biopsychosocial-cultural assessment (including mental health assessment) and provision of short-term support in response to a wide range of health, social and mental health issues
- Understanding and relatable experience in supporting students and/or young people within a residential or complex environment.
- Commitment to the provision of best practice student support as part of the development of students as independent learners
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace; including responding appropriately to adverse accidents, incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like.
