Are you driven by the challenge of turning cutting-edge research into real-world solutions? 

As the Senior Manager, Commercialisation, you will play a key role in shaping the future of research translation – guiding academics through the journey from invention to impact, and building strong partnerships with industry and investors to bring breakthrough technologies to market.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the full commercialisation lifecycle, from assessing inventions and identifying market potential, to negotiating deals and supporting post-commercialisation outcomes.
  • Provide strategic guidance to researchers on intellectual property, spinout formation, and market readiness.
  • Build and manage relationships with industry, investors, and internal stakeholders to support commercial pathways.
  • Develop business cases and pitch strategies to secure investment and drive research translation.

This 2-year fixed term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

 

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Proven experience in commercialising deep tech innovations within a university environment, with a strong understanding of IP, governance, and regulatory pathways.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to guide and coach researchers through complex commercial processes.
  • A strategic mindset and deep industry networks, particularly in sectors such as medtech, and climate technologies, with a track record of securing investment and building successful ventures.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and expectations, bringing people on the journey with patience, clarity, and confidence.

 

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $136,030 to $145,745 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
