We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our team as a Student Communication Assistant. In this role, you will provide essential support in delivering exceptional communications to current University of Newcastle students across a range of channels.

Primarily, you will assist the Student Communication team in executing creative, timely, and relevant marketing and communications campaigns aimed at current students, as well as providing some administrative support to the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and moderating content on student-focused social media channels to maintain a positive online presence.
  • Assisting in the production and distribution of student communication content, such as brochures, emails, social media posts, digital signage, and posters.
  • Supporting the maintenance of web content across Current Student pages to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Contributing to the development of projects and initiatives aimed at improving communication with current students.
  • Administering digital signage content across various locations, including screen savers and lecture theatre slides, to ensure effective communication with all university stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal clients to deliver effective student communication solutions.
  • Handling administrative tasks, including monitoring the Student Communication email inbox, responding to inquiries, and delegating or actioning tasks as appropriate.
  • Working closely with staff in the Hubs, Enquiry Centre Hub, and Student Support to support a superior student experience.
  • Participating in major events and activities related to promotion and recruitment, retention, enrolments, and graduation ceremonies as required. 

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 4 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

The domain of Student Experience and Administration is responsible for supporting and enabling the student journey to enrich the educational experience at the University.
