As Manager, Tertiary Pathways and Integrated Partnerships you will lead the University’s work to build a more connected and future‑focused tertiary education ecosystem.
You will shape strategic initiatives that strengthen Vocational Education and Training to Higher Education (VET–HE) pathways, expand integrated delivery models, and position the University of Newcastle as a leader in tertiary harmonisation and regional workforce development.
In this role you will:
- Drive the design and delivery of major cross‑sector initiatives, including pathway expansion, credit and curriculum alignment, and co‑location projects.
- Build and manage high‑impact partnerships with TAFE NSW, accredited VET providers, government agencies, industry, and peak bodies to advance integrated tertiary education.
- Provide strategic advice on tertiary systems reform, regulatory implications, and opportunities for innovation across qualifications and sectors.
- Oversee quality, compliance, and regional engagement activities that lift the University’s profile.
This fixed term position is until December 31, 2026, is full time, and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).
How will you inspire us?
You will have:
- Extensive experience across Higher Education and/or the VET sector, including a strong track record leading complex HE–VET initiatives and partnerships.
- Deep expertise in pathways, credit frameworks, and curriculum alignment, supported by strong project and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate dynamic environments and manage competing priorities.

The remuneration for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 9 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
