Role Purpose & Environment

The Core Network Engineer (CNES) position is part of a bigger group called Fixed Access Network. The position fulfils various day to day operations and tasks, projects, and in charge of database normally used by the industry.

Responsibilities

· Analyse, prepare and write network configurations as part of but not limited to:

o upstream peering and backhaul traffic management

o deployment of IP space across business

o provisioning of new logical links for products

· Maintain, work on various database / workspace:

o IP address database

o Internet Route Registries and Regional Internet Registries

o Confluence, Salesforce, BMC Helix, Jira

· Proactively detect network issues or raise fix if ongoing

· Monitor, check, generate reports relating to network health

· Be part of rotating shift schedules

Skills and Experience Required

· Graduate of BS IT, Engineering, or equivalent field

· Must have hands-on command line experience on production level network devices (ie: Cisco)

· Must have strong understanding of:

o IPv4, IPv6 address and subnetting

o routing (layer 3) and switching (layer 2) technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Quality of Service, Spanning-tree, vlans, trunks, etc

· Has a good verbal and written English communication skill

· Candidates with prior experience on the network filed of a service provider is preferable

· Nice to have but not required: Cisco, Juniper certifications focusing on Networks, Phyton scripting, has an idea of what /how Internet route registry and Regional internet registry works
