About the position:

Happy Rock Dental is a welcoming, family-focused practice offering both general and cosmetic dentistry. We’re looking for a part-time dental assistant to join our friendly, supportive team and be part of a practice that values great patient care and a positive team environment.

The role offers a 9-day fortnight, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with every second Saturday.

You’ll work closely with the dental team and Practice Manager, with plenty of opportunity to learn, develop your skills and grow within the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
  • Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Attention to detail
