About the Position:
About Smiles Circular Quay is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our cosmetic-focused practice on a part-time basis, working three days per week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You will be working closely with our Oral Health Therapist.
You’ll support a skilled team of clinicians in delivering exceptional patient care, helping ensure every treatment is provided to the highest standard. Our practice is modern, welcoming, and fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering a wide range of treatments from general to cosmetic dentistry.
We’re looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and passionate about dentistry, with strong chairside assisting skills and a focus on patient care and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
- Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
- Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant
- A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail
