About the position:

Totally Smiles Morningside is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to join our warm and welcoming team.

We’re a cosy, two-chair, family-oriented practice operating Monday to Saturday (with Saturdays being a half-day). You’ll be joining a long-standing and supportive team, with our Practice Manager and Lead Dentist having worked together at Morningside for over 20 years.

This role includes both clinical assisting and some reception duties, so we're looking for someone who is flexible, team-focused, and ready to contribute across the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.

Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.

Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.

Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, check them in and out, and manage appointment scheduling.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Attention to detail
