1800RESPECT Counsellor – Video Counselling

  • Video counselling positions (part-time, minimum 19 hours)

About the role:

We are offering fixed-term positions (ending in June 2027) for skilled Counsellors who will deliver video counselling services. In this role, you will apply your clinical assessment and therapeutic expertise to meet the distinct needs of those reaching out for support through the national 1800RESPECT service. As a counsellor with 1800RESPECT, you will apply a structured evidence-based approach to a lasting decrease in the occurrence and effects of domestic, family, and sexual violence.

Required Credentials: (Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening and verification)

  • A minimum three-year relevant bachelor's qualification which meets the requirements of the Peak Body Registration.
  • Experience delivering video counselling services
  • Be eligible to register (or) hold current registration with one of the Professional Bodies at the required level: PACFA - Clinical, ACA - Lvl3 or above, Full - AASW or General Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist.
  • Holder of a current working with children check/vulnerable people check relevant to your State, or proof of application prior to interview 
  • At least three years full time counselling experience (Case Management not acceptable).
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence based counselling; (this may include face-to-face, phone and/or online counselling) or equivalent experience in specialised domestic, family and sexual violence counselling.
  • Strong computer skills (experience with using systems, MS Word, excel, outlook and internet)
