What’s the opportunity?

The role of Technical Writer is integral to delivering the Telstra Health mission by producing high-quality technical and user documents. This role is instrumental in delivering the Telstra Health mission through providing high quality technical and user documents.

This role will specialise in the writing, editing, formatting and management of key project documentation, creating and managing new templates were necessary.

What are the key accountabilities?

  • Prepare key project documentation in accordance with standards, using Telstra Health tools.  
  • Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content. 
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation. 
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications. 
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement. 
  • Create and manage new templates where necessary. 
  • Provide advice on document preparation based on project requirements and expected audience. 
  • Store and manage documentation in the appropriate central repositories. 
  • Collaborate with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine optimal solutions for data compilation and centralized storage. 

About you:

  • Significant practical experience in the use of current technical publishing standards and tools  
  • Demonstrated experience in, or aptitude for, development of technical information in a software environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in simple terms, to a variety of audiences.
