Our Data, Analytics, NLP and Artificial Intelligence team is expanding, and we are looking for an outstanding python engineer who has experience solving complex technical problems and wants to apply their knowledge to the health environments. This is an exciting new role in a small, high-performance, virtual team which is leading the delivery of analytics solutions across all Telstra Health products as well as creating new products. You will be Telstra Health’s key python expert providing support and advice as well as delivering ambitious, impact-making projects in Australia and across the world.
In the role you will be supported by and working with the Head of Data Science, Data Engineers, UX Design Specialists and Clinical Experts. While we are hiring for specialisation, identifying how your values fit with our current team is just as important to us.
Experience required:
- Developing ML/AI models using Python.
- Good understanding of data structures, machine learning algorithms and their applications to specific use cases.
- Good understanding of most commonly used machine learning and data processing libraries e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Theano, SciKit-Learn, Pandas, NumPy.
- Write efficient, reusable, testable, and scalable code and ability to work with and around a software development team.
- Demonstrable end-to-end data science and analytics project life cycle experience with the ability to spot opportunities and drive them through to delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in DevOps/MLOps product lifecycle from inception to production and pipeline configuration.
- Good comprehension of database technologies and SQL (with Transact SQL preferred) for data extraction, preparation and manipulation.
- Setting up and documenting Development to Production release processes.
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Capability to solve complex technical issues, comprehend and articulate risks prior to the circumstance.
Preferable
- Use of IAAS infrastructure in an Azure environment – while our preference is for Azure solutions, we also work with a mixture of on-prem, AWS and GC environments.
- Capability to fine tune predictive models based on results.
- Enough knowledge of PowerBI to be able to deliver results in a way that PowerBI can be used to vizualise the results quickly and effectively.
- A background in the Health/medical environment would be an advantage, although with such a strong team around you, this is not a requirement.
