What’s the opportunity?

You will be an experienced Product Owner who can demonstrate successful delivery of clinical systems currently in market, or you may be an experienced clinician from an acute care environment looking for a career change. You’ll bring your experience with clinical applications like PAS and EMRs, and your strong knowledge of clinical workflows to lead the delivery of our solution strategy for your solutions. You’ll be comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders and have an innovative approach to understanding customer needs and delivering high quality, fit for purpose solutions.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on the assigned solution, the capabilities of its modules, and their appropriate use in a customer setting.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Product to understand the solution vision, strategy and priorities across multiple horizons and how these meet Telstra Health Hospital Care goals.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand current challenges with assigned solutions from a customer, sales, clinical and engineering perspective.
  • Develop a delivery plan aligned with strategic priorities and documenting this as a roadmap.
  • Maintain and publish both an up-to-date internal roadmap and customer-facing roadmap in the agreed formats and cadence set by the GM of Product & Solutions
  • Define requirements for roadmap deliverables using agile methods, ensuring alignment with sprint cycles.
  • Co-lead sprint planning meetings with Iteration Managers to provide the guidance on vision and purpose of the deliverables, the value to the business, and the definition of done to the engineering team for planned work in the coming sprint.
  • Manage backlog of user stories, prioritising based on value scoring, incorporating new ideas from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve prioritisation and scope conflicts in collaboration with Iteration Managers.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the Head of Product on options for consideration where parameters for the solution delivery have changed and what the impacts are to the planned roadmap.
  • Lead requirements research for new deliverables and collaborate with the UX Designer to provide guidance on the intended outcomes and scope of the deliverable, and the business prioritisation.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Writer to ensure that completed deliverables that are accepted by Product Management are then able to be translated into comprehensive product documentation for other teams to use.
  • Stay updated on Agile practices and industry trends, offering recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide technical support as a Product SME to the Sales Team if required.
  • Provide training to the Solution Specialists and Solution Delivery teams on new features and capabilities ahead of release to production.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience as a Product Owner in a software development environment, preferably with B2B SaaS solutions, or 5 years’ experience in an acute healthcare setting using relevant technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with software implementations and/or project management of large projects.
  • Experience in negotiating agreed outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Agile software development environment.
  • Highly desirable: experience working with acute care technologies in a clinical setting and pre-sales support experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business related, clinical or technology discipline.
  • Product Management and/or Project Management qualifications desired.
