Vision - to achieve a significant reduction across the Australian community in the prevalence and impacts of domestic, family and sexual violence, including workplace sexual harassment - by improving first response processes, national sector integration, service reach and responsiveness to diverse groups; by strengthening community engagement; and by continuous enhancement of staff skills and technology.

Mission - to deliver a free, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week national service that provides information, counselling support and referrals to people experiencing or at risk of domestic, family and sexual violence, including workplace sexual harassment.

Purpose - to provide an accessible, high quality, clinically informed and evidence-based service that meets the diverse needs and complex considerations of individuals seeking support.


About the role:

As Social Media and Marketing Coordinator, you will

  • Develop, implement and maintain content plans and relevant digital content for 1800RESPECT channels, including website, social media, apps and more
  • Monitor and manage the 1800RESPECT social media channels, as well as media and other general and media enquiries for the service, supporting on responses as required
  • Develop and maintain your knowledge of up-to-date inclusive, nuanced language
  • Create targeted marketing and messaging frameworks and materials for campaigns, including for events
  • Learn and manage technical platforms/systems, including a CMS for editing website content, CRM for stakeholder engagements, and other analytics tools to understand engagement across multiple channels
  • Contribute to developing content for Telstra Health channels in support of 1800RESPECT activities, working alongside the Telstra Health Corporate Affairs team as needed


About you

You will be a valued team member in contributing to the successful operation of 1800RESPECT by supporting the Communications and Marketing Adviser and Communications and Media Lead. You will play a key role for Telstra Health’s centralised Corporate Affairs unit, which includes responsibility for government relations, policy, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing and events activities

To take up this challenge, we are looking for someone with a related tertiary qualification, complemented by experience in using social media and other online platforms (for example, website, mobile applications, intranet, analytics and CRM tools) for nuanced stakeholder communications and engagement. Equally important will be finding someone who is looking to develop their career in an environment that cares for its people and community, with the opportunity to bring energy and creativity to the broader program team dedicated to delivering this critical service.

It is highly favourable to have experience in diversity, inclusion and wellbeing communications and/or working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with lived experience, cultural and linguistically diverse people, LGBTQ+ people and people with disability.
