Vision - to achieve a significant reduction across the Australian community in the prevalence and impacts of domestic, family and sexual violence, including workplace sexual harassment - by improving first response processes, national sector integration, service reach and responsiveness to diverse groups; by strengthening community engagement; and by continuous enhancement of staff skills and technology.
Mission - to deliver a free, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week national service that provides information, counselling support and referrals to people experiencing or at risk of domestic, family and sexual violence, including workplace sexual harassment.
Purpose - to provide an accessible, high quality, clinically informed and evidence-based service that meets the diverse needs and complex considerations of individuals seeking support.
About the role:
As a Communications and Marketing Advisor, you will:
- Develop, implement and manage content plans for 1800RESPECT communications, marketing and media, including stakeholder engagement, website content, social media material, apps content, internal communications, and more
- Contribute to developing strong stakeholder relationships across the sector to enhance the awareness and brand of both Telstra Health and the 1800RESPECT service
- Work with internal teams to support the 1800RESPECT business unit to achieve its vision, mission and purpose
- Develop and maintain your knowledge of up-to-date inclusive, nuanced language that is central to the development and maintenance of relevant 1800RESPECT content – ensuring it meets the quality management standards for the service as well as best practice for the sector
- Create targeted marketing and messaging frameworks and materials for campaigns across various platforms, including news and media (TV, radio, print), digital and social platforms, sponsored and other relevant events, and partner channels – with accessibility for hard-to-reach audiences central to the campaigns
- Draft media content, including responses to media enquiries
- Embed the formal 1800RESPECT communications and media strategy and stakeholder engagement plan
About you
As a Communications and Marketing Advisor at Telstra Health, you will be a valued team member in contributing to the successful operation of 1800RESPECT by working with the Communications and Media Lead. You will play a key role in Telstra Health’s centralised Corporate Affairs unit, which includes responsibility for government relations, policy, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing and events activities.
- Strong communicator with a related tertiary qualification, complemented by marketing experience
- Detailed understanding on how to use a variety of platforms and channels (for example, social media, website, CRM, analytics tools and other internal communications)
- An innovative and considered approach to communications and marketing for this critical service
- A resilient nature and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders, while balancing competing interests and priorities
It is highly favourable to have experience in diversity, inclusion and wellbeing communications and/or working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with lived experience, cultural and linguistically diverse people, LGBTQ+ people and people with disability.
