The Lead Integration Architect plays a key role in shaping the architecture vision and future state integration architecture that underpins Telstra Health’s digital health products and services. By defining and overseeing the implementation of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions, this role ensures the organisation can deliver high-quality digital health experiences that meet current and future needs.
About the role:
Strategic Leadership in Product and Technology Architecture
The Lead Integration Architect has an instrumental role in contributing to the strategic leadership of the organisation, facilitating architectural design and roadmaps that enable the organisation to achieve strategic objectives. In doing so, the Lead Integration Architect will have responsibility for:
- Leading the development of Telstra Health’s architecture roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and supports the delivery of innovative digital health solutions.
- Ensuring the organisation's architecture is future focussed, capable of scaling with demand while being adaptable to emerging technologies and market changes.
- Providing leadership, advice and implementation support to assess organisational capabilities and to identify, prioritise and implement improvements.
- Analysing and proactively managing business demand for new services or modifications to existing service features or volumes.
- Aligning an organisation's technology strategy with its vision, strategy and work plan.
- Ensuring that architecture frameworks and standards are maintained and updated in line with evolving technology trends, regulatory requirements, and business needs.
Technical Expertise
Highly experienced in this technical field, the Lead Integration Architect will:
- Evaluate and recommend new information standards, technologies, tools, and platforms, ensuring they contribute to the organisation’s long-term growth and operational efficiency.
- Lead the resolution of complex and priority architecture issues, working with engineering and development teams to ensure solutions are aligned with standards and best practices.
- Act as the technical authority in major technology decisions, guiding the selection of frameworks, languages, and platforms.
- Managing vital knowledge to create value for the organisation.
- Oversee the design of complex systems and services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and capable of integrating with existing infrastructure and emerging technologies.
Leadership of People and Culture
A significant part of the Lead Integration Architect’s role is cultivating and maintaining a high performing team culture, doing so by providing appropriate leadership support, guidance, and role modelling of Telstra Health’s values and behaviours.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineering and architecture teams, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Improving organisational performance by developing the performance of individuals and workgroups to meet agreed objectives with measurable results.
- Enhancing employee engagement and ways of working, empowering employees and supporting their health and wellbeing.
- Facilitating the professional development of individuals in line with their career goals and organisational requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring solutions meet organisational requirements and technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate technical requirements, providing guidance and expertise to ensure successful implementation of projects.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, will be highly regarded.
- Certified Architect qualifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, MuleSoft).
- Advanced knowledge of cloud architecture and design principles, particularly with platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in a senior architecture, systems integration or engineering role, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions.
- Experience using the HL7 FHIR information standards.
- Familiarity with healthcare terminologies such as SNOMED CT-AU, LOINC, and ICD-10.'
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale architectural projects, ideally within the healthcare or technology sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of integration patterns, cloud computing and cybersecurity frameworks, with experience applying them in complex digital environments.
- Extensive experience with contemporary API management, service orchestration and integration solutions.
- Experience working with MuleSoft Accelerator for Healthcare.
- Familiarity with other healthcare information standards such as HL7 v2 and CDA.
- Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud.
