TBWA REPRESENTS

Disruption has never been a catchphrase or a trend. It’s a mindset. It’s a behaviour.

We don’t dabble in Disruptive thinking. We embody it, day in and day out.

When we solve problems, we do it collectively. None of us is better than all of us.

Together we strive to create disruption the world needs.

ABOUT THE JOB

TBWA\Melbourne is seeking a Business Director to join the ADF Careers team.

The role forms part of TBWA's specialised agency model, created specifically to attract, convert, and retain the next generation of Defence personnel. If you seek a role with purpose and have a desire to create world-class creative, we’d love to speak with you.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team across strategy, creative, technology and data to drive campaign strategies and providing an informed point of view in response to the brief.
  • Championing disruptive, world-class ideas.
  • Challenging and shaping the work across the entire recruitment journey while identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Building strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders, fostering an environment of trust and a focus on creativity and innovation.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the client’s audience segmentations, user journeys, analytics and performance data.
  • Furthering your understanding of culture and the broad forces effecting the success of our campaign and always-on efforts.
  • Implementing processes that ensure efficient and effective delivery, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversight and delivery of regular performance, administrative and financial reporting.
  • Financial management of project costs, ensuring the best value extraction and delivery within briefed budgets.
  • Manage a small team with two direct reports, ensuring clear direction, guidance and support
  • Delivering timely feedback and an ‘always on’ feedback loop approach for continuous development and to breed a learning culture.
  • Occasional travel to Canberra may be required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO TBWA

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in the advertising industry.
  • A passion to create world-class creative.
  • Strategic savviness and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to set clear campaign objectives and KPIs and analyse post-campaign performance to inform future strategies.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively on multiple projects from brief to completion.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to think critically to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Integrated, or a digital native with a clear understanding of marcomms across the total brand experience.
  • Experience creating master timing plans, cost estimates and controlling production processes to improve cost efficiencies and profitability.
  • Experience working with large, complex organisations is preferred.

OUR VALUES

  • Uncommon decency: Having deep respect for diverse perspectives and the value all parties bring.
  • Radical Collaboration: One team operating with transparency and openness, always.
  • Targeted Excellence: Results are everything. Data is our compass; creativity is our superpower.

WHAT LIFE IS LIKE AT TBWA

  • Fast paced, collaborative and rewarding
  • We’re professionals but don’t take ourselves too seriously
  • We’re hard on the work, kind to each other
  • Creativity can come from anywhere
  • We’re flexible, but believe the best stuff happens when we’re in the agency together

WHAT WE’LL BRING TO YOU

Career development: growing and developing all our people is critical to our success – we do so through an always on feedback culture – not just an annual review.

Training: we have a continuous learning culture, designed to empower our people with the skills and confidence to steward our most important asset: Creativity. We provide a range of internal and external training opportunities, personalised to your individual needs. We also benefit from access to Global Learning Programs.

Radically open collective:  we are a collective, not a network. Each of our offices has its own personality and special skills. We thrive on our difference but are united by our common language of Disruption®. We are flexible, fluid and organic. None of us are as good as all of us.

Disrupt This: we truly believe that ideas can come from anywhere, not just one department. We have created a wall of client & cultural problems that anyone can help solve.

Flexibility policy: we work with a level of flexibility that brings the best performance for both the individual and the team around them, with Mondays and Fridays mandatory.
