We are looking for a curious and sharp thinking Connections Planner / Communications Planner to join our highly awarded TBWA\ Melbourne team and Customer Experience offering.

The Role

Your job will be to support the strategy team with your exceptional research and analysis skills, unearth all kinds of insights and observations and help us turn them into brilliant strategies that drive Disruption®. You’ll be joining a team of strategic thinkers from all kinds of backgrounds and work closely with business directors and creative teams.

This role will primarily be split between:

  • Telstra, as part of +61 (a bespoke agency powered by TBWA, Bear Meets Eagle on Fire and OMD dedicated to Telstra) supporting the customer marketing discipline for one of Australia’s most prominent brands
  • Nissan, providing strategic support for the precision marketing of Omnicom’s largest global client across all paid media
  • Along with opportunities to work more broadly across TBWA\Melbourne agency clients including NAB, Specsavers and Seek.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Strategy:

  • Develop and contribute to connections strategies to help creative ideas come to life
  • Co-create inspiring and insightful briefs for our creative teams
  • Provide points of view on innovations, best practices and best in class usage of channels and platforms
  • Prepare and give presentations on findings & recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

Consumer Journey:

  • Develop consumer journey maps illustrating audience insights and behaviours
  • Develop program contact strategies and message matrices for personalised, data-driven communications
  • Visualise integrated campaign ecosystems across paid, owned and earned media
  • Research, Insight & Data:
  • Provide strategic support outlining the application and activation of data within owned and paid channels
  • Use a range of data sources and tools to provide relevant inputs and insights into strategic or creative thinking and briefs including audience segmentation, first party data, and 3rd party tools
  • Interpret and visualise data in a meaningful way to colleagues and for presentation
  • Have a point of view on and support post campaign performance and results

The Ideal Candidate

  • Will have a solid 1-2 years’ experience in similar data planning, junior planning or media role
  • Understand the world of data and data concepts ie. observed data, first party data, audience segmentation
  • Good understanding of owned/CRM/1:1 channels eg email, app
  • Articulate in paid channels including Paid Social, Paid Search, Programmatic, Partnerships, SEO, and traditional channels
  • Be comfortable with numbers and detail
  • Be passionate about all-things data, and the opportunities it presents in creative and communications
  • Be curious, proactive and use initiative
  • Be both an analytical and creative thinker
  • Attention to detail and time management comes to you naturally
